ANZAC Experiment
When I was making these beautiful ANZAC biscuits,
I had no idea I would turn it into an experiment!
I was waiting for my biscuits to cook and I finally could take them out of the oven when, to my shock, my Anzac biscuits didn’t look like they normally did! What had I possibly done wrong?
Was it the fact I changed the types of sugar in the recipe? Was it because I used margarine instead of butter?
….Then I realised I had followed a different method! I had no idea the method would make such a difference. Perhaps its because of the reaction with the baking soda…..
My Method
Alternative method
Well regardless of why, I decided I would take that opportunity to turn this into another experiment. So I made my method for Anzac biscuits to compare the two. And they are quite different! Mine are flatter and softer and the others are more like a biscuit. I may be biased, but I like my method…. But the other method is good too. Trust me. Both lots of biscuits only lasted two days….. Tops….
So I encourage you to try both methods and experiment for yourselves.
