180gButter, Softened(3/4 Cup)
1CupBrown Sugar
1CupOats
1 and 3/4CupsWholemeal Flour
2tspCinnamon

Instructions
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease or line a 9"x13" baking tin with baking paper.
Chop the dates into small pieces and add to the red wine in a saucepan.
Bring the dates to the boil then turn down to a simmer until the dates are soft and the mixture has thickened.
Beat the butter and brown sugar until they are combined but there are still lumps of butter present.
Add the wholemeal flour, oats, cinnamon and baking soda.
Mix together with your hands until the mixture is nice and crumbly.
Spread ½ to 2/3 of the mixture evenly over the baking tray.
Take the dates off the heat and allow it to cool slightly.
Pour the date mixture gently over the base of the slice and spread evenly.
Sprinkle the rest of the crumbly mixture over the top of the dates and place it in the oven.
Bake for 30-35 minutes until it is nice and golden on the top.
Allow it to cool completely before slicing it into bars.
