KitKat Cookie Bars are soft and chewy cookie bars for a gooey middle filled with chocolate chips and a KitKat filling. We top the bars with KitKats after baking for the ultimate KitKat lovers sweet treat!
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 7"x11" baking tin with butter or non stick cooking spray.
Beat the butter, brown sugar and sugar together.
Add in the eggs and vanilla extract and beat until smooth.
Add in the flour, baking powder and baking soda and mix. Finally add the chocolate chips and mix together.
Spread half of the chocolate chip cookie dough in an even layer in the base of the prepared pan.
Place 170g of the Kitkats on top of the cookie bar base.
Top with the remaining cookie dough in little blobs.
Bake for 30-35 minutes. The top and sides will be golden and set but the middle will have crumbs attached to a skewer inserted in the middle. Remove from the oven and top with the remaining KitKats.
Allow to cool before slicing and serving.
These will keep for a week in an airtight container
