BuzzFeed Tasty Ultimate Brownies Recipe Taste Test! It’s been awhile since I did a Buzzfeed Tasty taste test but we’re finally back and I have a guest on my YouTube video….
Now, in Tasty’s video, they show that they have tested many brownies recipes and managed to merge all the good bits into one amazing brownie… Did they succeed?
If you are an avid foodie, watch food videos or just scroll YouTube, I’m sure you will have come across Tasty’s Ultimate Brownies video. Their claim for the ultimate brownies intrigued me enough to try them so you don’t have to!
As you will see from the above video, the Ultimate Brownies recipe results is fudgy and gooey chocolate brownies. The addition of coffee helps bring out the richness in the chocolate and whipping the eggs until SUPER fluffy allows the brownies to have the ultimate crackly top!
I will post the recipe as I made it down below and write any notes or changes to the recipe. If you want to give these ultimate brownies a go, be sure to report back with your thoughts! I would love to know what you think.
The ultimate brownies recipe is fudgy and gooey with a super crackly top.
- 140 g Butter, Melted (2/3 Cup)
- 114 g Dark Chocolate (4oz)
- 1/3 Cup Dutch Process Cocoa
- 2 tsp Espresso Powder
- 3 Large Eggs
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Dark Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan butter, then line with baking paper, leaving overhang on all sides. Set aside.
Combine the chopped chocolate, 2 Tbsp. of cocoa, and espresso powder in a medium sized bowl and set aside.
Melt the butter over a medium heat and cook until the butter is melted and hot. Pour the hot butter straight over the chocolate mixture and let sit for 2 minutes. Mix until the chocolate is completely smooth and melted, then set aside.
Combine the sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract and eggs in a large bowl. Beat with an electric hand mixer on high speed until light and fluffy, about 10 minutes. It will triple in size.
Beat the chocolate mixture through the egg mixture.
Fold through the flour, remaining cocoa and salt until just combined.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan. Bake until lightly puffed on top, (around 20 minutes.)
Remove the brownies from the oven, then drop the pan on a flat surface 1-2 times until the brownies deflate. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt (optional).
Return to the oven and bake until a wooden skewer inserted into the center of the brownies comes out fudgy but the edges look cooked through, around another 20 minutes.
Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan and then lift them out and slice!
I halved the original recipe.
I would omit the sprinkle of salt on the brownies.
