Trust me when I say you want to make these ASAP for the BEST Easter treat!
Where have these been all my life? Seriously. I am obsessed with all parts of these Easter cookie bars. From the chewy cookies and cream flavoured cookie outside to the creamy, cookies and cream cheesecake filling and all the chocolate and Easter eggs in between... This is a recipe I will make again and again and I'm sure you will too!
Let's Break this down.
The Cookie Bars
The cookie dough for these cookie bars is my go to cookie pie/cookie bar recipe that always turns out chewy, gooey cookie dough to create the perfect dense cookie treat. Its featured in too many recipes to count but they include the Nutella KitKat Cookie Pie, Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars and my Kinder Bueno Cookie Bars.
Its a very simple dough and allows for all the additions we want and need for these Oreo Creme Egg Cookie Bars.
Additions
In the cookie dough of these cookie bars we have a mixture of chocolate chips, crushed Oreo cookies, Chopped Easter Eggs and Chopped Oreo Creme Eggs. A number of changes can be made to the additions of these cookie bars so long as you keep the similar ratios.
Examples:
- Creme Eggs in place of Oreo Creme Eggs.
- Cookies and Cream Easter Eggs in place of regular Easter Eggs.
- Cookies and cream chocolate replacing the Oreo Creme Eggs for other times of the year.
- Additional chocolate chips or chopped chocolate in place of Easter eggs for other times of the year.
You get the idea.
The Cookies and Cream Cheesecake Filling
The filling is super easy to make. A very quick and easy cheesecake with the addition of crushed Oreos and a couple of chopped Oreo Creme Eggs if you want.
Can you tell I'm obsessed with these Oreo Creme Eggs?
The end result is a vanilla, cookies and cream, creamy and chocolatey treat perfect for Easter! Soooo good!
